Inspired by the breakdown of relationships between her and her father, and the questions of identity she was then left with; who in the world am I? aims to dismantle the idea that your identity is simply genetics. Who in the world am I plays upon the idea of a person being able to create their own identity through what they are interested in, and what they hold close to them. The collection includes many trinket objects that are personal to the designer, which can also be seen in some printed fabrics with these objects on them. As the collection originated from a need to find out more about the person she is, Who in the World am I encourages the viewer to think about their tastes and interests and how we have the freedom to create the person we want to be. Shot in Glasgow, the models were asked to choose a location or space meaningful to them in terms of growth and who they see themselves being today.
